Be it Remembered that I Frances Lawrence of the township of Randolph in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey being of a sound mind and perfect memory do make this my last will and testament in the following manner

First it is my will that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and discharged - Second I give and bequeath to my wife Hannah Lawrence one cow one feather bed and bedding to the same belonging and curtains, cloths cubboard large bible looking glass warming pan small brass kettle side saddle fifty pounds of flax and all the meat and grain that is on hand at the time of my decease, and I give her the use of my farm that is situated in the township of Randolph joining lands of Solomon Dalrymple Thomas Dill [could be Dell-HV] and there containing one hundred and twenty acres be the same more or less as long as she remains my widow All which I give her in lieu of her rightly dower out of my estate Third I give and bequeath to my daughter Betsy Lawrence one feather bed and bedding to the same belong -- Fourth I give and bequeath to my son Elias D. Lawrence a two year old heifer Fifth It is my will and I order all the remainder of my estate both real and personal that is not herein mentioned to be sold by my Executors and the money arising from the sale thereof to go towards the payment of my debts with that farm or plantation that I gave the use of to my wife to enjoy as long as she remains my widow after her marring or death which may first happen - I order to be sold by my Executors herein after named --or at any time sooner whenever my Executors together with my said widow shall judge it best to sell the same, and I authorize and empower my Executors or the survivor of them to make and execute deeds for my land when sold as above directed And the money ______ from the sale of my estate as above directed to be sold after paying all my just debts and expenses I give and bequeath one seventh part thereof to my son Luther Lawrence and one seventh part to my son Aaron S. Lawrence and one seventh part to my son Henry S. Lawrence and one seventh part thereof to my son Elias D. Lawrence and one seventh part to my daughter Betsy Lawrence and one seventh part to my daughter Eunice Lawrence and thereof one seventh part I give and bequeath to the children of my son Calvin C. Lawrence --be equally divided among them share and share alike And lastly I authorize and appoint my son Aaron S. Lawrence and my son Henry S. Lawrence and Daniel Lawrence, Jr. Executors of my last will and testament In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten

Morris County SS} Daniel Lawrence one of the witnesses to the foregoing being duly sworn according to law and Thomas Dell being affirmed did ____ally declare and say that they saw Francis Lawrence the testator therein named sign seal the same & heard him pronounce publish the foregoing writing to be his last will and testament and that at the doing thereof the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory as far as these deponents know and as they verily believe, and that Charity Lawrence signed her name as a witness to the said will together with these deponents in the presence of the said testator

Lawrence and Daniel Lawrence Jun Executors in the }foregoing named being sworn on the Holy Evangelists of }Almighty God And ____ally depose and say that the within instrument contains the true last will & testament of Francis Lawrence the testator herein named so far (as) they know and as they verily believe That they will well and truly perform the same by paying first the debts of the said deceased and then the legacies in the said testament so specified as far as the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased can thereunto extend, and that they will make and exhibit into the Surrogate's Office at Morristown a true & perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased that have or shall come to their knowledge or possession or to the possession of any other person or persons for their use and render a just and true account when thereunto lawfully required

Since Francis Lawrence gives and bequeaths one seventh part "to the children of my son Calvin C. Lawrence", it would be a reasonable assumption to suppose Calvin was deceased. However, the following abstract shows otherwise. Wonder why Francis left the money to Calvin's children and not to Calvin.....
